The jobs listed through the Jackson State Community College Placement Services office are available only to currently as well as previously enrolled students and alumni. Placement Services' clients are asked NOT to pass information about the job listings along to individuals who have never attended JSCC. Sharing information about the job listings to individuals who have never attended JSCC could hinder your as well as other students and alumni efforts to find employment. Individuals who have never attended JSCC are encouraged to utilize other employment resources that are available to the general public.
How to Apply for the Jobs That Are Listed
While Jackson State Community College Placement Services cannot guarantee employment, currently as well as previously enrolled Jackson State Community College students and alumni are encouraged to apply for any of the positions listed for which they are qualified. To apply for the jobs that are listed, you must be registered with the JSCC Placement Services office. If you are already registered with Placement Services, call (731) 424-3520 ext. 50315, e-mail Annette Deaton at firstname.lastname@example.org , or stop by room 136 in the Student Union building located on the Jackson campus.
If you would like to register with the Placement Services office, please follow the instructions given below.
1. Pick up an application from the Placement Services office in room 136 in the Student Union building located on the Jackson Campus or download the Placement Services Application, print it, fill it out in blue or black ink, and sign it. Student must bring his or her completed and signed Placement Services application to their scheduled appointment. Please do not drop off, mail, e-mail or fax the application. Placement Services must have the original application with your signature.
2. Schedule an appointment to come in and discuss your job search. Appointments can be made by calling the Placement Services office at (731) 424-3520 ext. 50315 or 1-800-355-5722 ext. 50315. Bring your completed and signed Placement Services application to the appointment. Most employers require applicants to submit a resume. We ask that prior to your scheduled appointment, please e-mail your resume to Annette Deaton at email@example.com . Resumes are only accepted by e-mail and must not be typed using a template. Resumes designed using a template will not be accepted.
3. Keep your appointment. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call the Placement Services office at (731) 424-3520 ext. 50315 before your appointment time to cancel and reschedule. Failure to keep or properly cancel two appointments will result in your loss of Placement Services assistance for one semester.
All hiring and compensation for work performed by the individual is handled directly between the applicant and the employer. Placement Services does not perform background checks on individuals applying for positions, nor on employers posting job opportunities. Employers and applicants are encouraged to request reference information from each other as needed to establish qualifications, credentials, and overall fit between the employer and the applicant. Jackson State Community College Placement Services makes no representations, warranties, or guarantees about the employers and their job listings. JSCC Placement Services is not responsible for employer's acts or omissions.
All job listings are posted at the discretion of the Placement Services office. Jobs that appear to discriminate against applicants on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, age, national origin, veteran status, sexual orientation, disability, or gender will not be posted. The Placement Services office also reserves the right to refuse to post positions that do not support the interests of the College and our students.
