An analysis of current national and global social problems and policies: the magnitude, causes, consequences, and possible solutions to various problems including poverty, racism, sexism, ageism, alcohol and drug abuse, crime, environmentalism, and urbanization.
SOC 241 Marriage and the Family

An introduction to the sociology of the family, marriage and relationships in contemporary society. The course will look at different types of families, as well as some of the stressors and strengths that impact families and marriages, in the context of the social and ethnic diversity that characterizes the modern global and national landscape.
