Program and Career Description

The Associate of Science in Pre-Nursing is designed for students wishing to pursue the first two years of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in a community college setting. Our students have the opportunity to work closely with science faculty, have ample access to science labs, and should be well prepared to enter a BSN program at a university. Careers in the field of nursing require either an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing or a BSN and an RN' license. Nurses work in a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and doctor's offices.

That' why we have special articulation agreements with Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) schools that allow students completing the Associate of Science Pre-Nursing degree to transfer as juniors. TBR universities with nursing degrees include:

Other schools in West Tennessee offering nursing degrees include the University of Tennessee at Martin, Lambuth University, Freed Hardeman University, and Union University. Students transferring to these colleges may require additional course work before becoming a junior.
