ACT Testing for Nursing
ACT Test Prep Hints
ACT scores that are less than three years old are required for applicants to be considered for admission to the Nursing Program. To assist applicants in meeting this requirement, the program offers a Nursing Residual ACT Exam. The test is given only on JSCC’s main campus and cannot be used for lottery purposes or transferred to any other institutions. Students may take the JSCC Nursing ACT residual only once per nursing admissions cycle.
Registration Instructions:
- Seating for the exam is limited and fill up quickly. Please do not delay registering for the ACT residual.
- If you are a new or JSCC returning applicant, ensure your application is on file with the JSCC Admissions Office. You cannot register for the ACT if this step is not completed. Please allow time for your admissions application to be processed.
- Register for the exam at one of the following locations: The JSCC Assessment Center or the Admissions Office on the main campus; or the Lexington, Savannah or Humboldt Centers. You may register between 8 am and 4 pm Monday through Friday. You cannot register for the test by phone. Contact the Assessment Center at (731) 425-3520, ext 479, with questions. You will be given the test location when you register for the exam.
- Pay the $35 non-refundable fee in the Business Services Office on the same day you register for the exam to reserve your seat. You can pay on-line if you are a current JSCC student. Payment by phone is not accepted. You must pay at the Jackson campus or at the Humboldt, Lexington or Savannah centers.
