What is Distance Education?

Jackson State offers several options for students who want a quality education that fits their life circumstances. If you need to attend classes but have a busy schedule, Distance Education classes may be an option for you.

All classes follow a schedule, but Distance Education classes offer more flexibility and the option to work on class assignments when you have time. Courses have set due dates for assignments, quizzes and discussion posts and deadlines for reading or viewing course materials. You can set you own schedule as long as you meet the professor's due dates.
