Communication and Humanities

Jackson State’s Division of Communication and Humanities provides opportunities for developing understanding and skills in the fields of art, mass communication, English, foreign languages, and music. It offers a variety of coursework in its emphasis areas with a dedicated faculty available to assist students in reaching their education goals.

The division offers emphasis areas in Art, Mass Communication, English, and Foreign Languages. Additionally, it offers a General Studies emphasis for students wanting to take a variety of courses and explore interests at the two-year level. The General Studies emphasis is also for those students wanting a liberal arts background as preparation for transfer to a four-year institution in pursuit of a more specialized major field of study.

Our division is proud to offer an Honors Program and courses in Service Learning and International Education.
