ACT Testing for Nursing

Applicants must submit national ACT scores to JSCC in order to apply to the Nursing Program.  The program uses the highest subscores in reading, English, math, and science reasoning earned on ACTs less than five years old are used to calculate a program admission superscore for each applicant.

Go to www.actstudent.org to select a testing date, location, and register for the ACT exam.  Register early as some test dates and locations fill a month or more prior to the testing date.

Only national scores dated August 1, 2012 or later that are on file with the JSCC Admissions Office by August 1, 2017 will be used for spring 2018 program admissions. Those national test dates are:

  • June 10, 2017
  • September 9, 2017 (will be used for August 1 admission)

For the LPN to RN Career Mobility Track Program, national ACTs taken February 1, 2013 or later that are on file with the JSCC Admissions Office can be used for admission.   These upcoming national ACT dates meet the Summer 2018 LPN to RN Mobility Track nursing application deadline:

  • June 10, 2017
  • September 9, 2017
  • October 28, 2017
  • December 9, 2017
  • February 10, 2018
