Dual Studies Requirements for Parents
Dual Studies students will have their parents to thank in-part for their jump start on their college success. That is because parent involvement is essential. Initially, parents will only be required to SIGN the Dual/Joint Enrollment Program Application and forms to grant their student permission to participate. Once a student has been accepted into the program, parents will be required to do all/most of the following EACH semester:
- Submit forms for any applicable tuition discounts available for Public School Teachers/State Employee Dependents, TBR
Employee Dependents or WIA. - Pay student tuition in full or enroll in a Deferred Payment plan to make a minimum down payment of 50% and pay a $10 service
fee to hold your classes* through the Business Services Office. You can pay through jWeb or by a check or money order payable to
JSCC. (Please include student’s name on memo line of check) - Purchase/Rent textbooks
- Encourage your student to successfully complete, or withdraw on-time from, the college course that he/she has enrolled in
(*The payment plan is only available for students taking two classes or more per semester)
