Dual Studies Restrictions
Dual Credit
- A student must attempt Dual Credit Exams within two (2) years from the date of high school graduation. Student must attempt Dual Credit assessments during the course of the semester in which he or she is taking Dual Credit courses.
- May attempt a course exam one time only.
- May earn no more than 21 hours of credit by examination.
- CANNOT attempt exams in courses previously completed in an attempt to raise grades on those courses.
- Negative results of attempted exams will not be recorded on students' transcripts. Test results will be on file in the Dual Studies Office only.
- Credit is only given at JSCC at this time.
Dual Enrollment
- Students must maintain a 2.75 GPA in order to qualify for the TN Dual Enrollment Grant each semester
- Students must maintain a 2.00 GPA in order to participate in the Dual Enrollment Program
- Students must adhere to the JSCC Academic Calendar
- Students that need to withdraw from a dual course must notify the high school counselor and the Dual Studies Director in order to be officially withdrawn from a dual enrollment class
