- Articulation Exams/Dual Credit or Dual Enrollment
Requirements, Procedures, and Restrictions
Articulation/Dual Credit:
Students who have completed certain career and technical courses in high school that are aligned with the learning outcomes of the postsecondary course can take course assessments developed by JSCC faculty. Upon successful completion of the assessment(s), the student will receive credit for the course at JSCC upon enrollment at JSCC. No tuition charge for Dual Credit. There will be a $10 application fee to apply to JSCC.
Dual Enrollment:
The postsecondary course is taught at the high school by SACS credentialed teachers either JSCC faculty or high school faculty or on the JSCC campus by JSCC Faculty. Credit is given at the high school and at JSCC upon successful completion of the course. Tuition is involved but juniors and seniors with a 3.0 overall GPA can apply for the TN Dual Enrollment Grant which is $300 per semester. Freshmen and Sophomores may also participate if they meet the same eligibility requirements but they aren't eligible for the TN Dual Enrollment Grant and must pay full tuition. Contracts between high school and JSCC must exist and be current.
