Perkins IV Articulation

Perkins IV General Agreement between JSCC and Participating Area High Schools

Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006

Students can earn college credit while still in high school by:

Articulation Exams:

Based on skills learned in high school, a student may, if qualified, apply for an opportunity to take a challenge exam that will give the student free college credit at JSCC with a minimum passing score. To apply, instructors should help the student fill out the articulation application, with the necessary signatures, and then turn the application over to the school counselor, and they in turn will send the application and student transcript to the Perkins IV office. Students, instructors and counselors will be notified of eligibility. The only other qualifying factors are to be accepted as a JSCC student, and successfully complete three (3) additional hours of college credit at JSCC. At that time the articulation credit will be added to the student's transcript.
