GED Test Dates
The JSCC local policy for GED Testing is in compliance with the policy of the State of Tennessee Board of Regents and the American Council of Education.
The GED Tests are given at the JSCC Assessment Center. The registration office is located in the Student Union Building, Room 15 (Assessment Center). Advance payment and completed registration is required before the test date. You may register Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
The complete test is 7 hours and 05 minutes. The test can be divided into two sessions upon request.

FEE: $55.00 Nonrefundable
REPEATS: $11.00 Per test subject

Eligibility Requirements:
- All examinees must fill out a JSCC GED Test application and a U.S. Demographics GED Testing Program application available from the GED Office. Also, you must have two forms of identification: one being a valid State picture ID that shows name, address, date of birth, signature, and the second card can be a Social Security, Selective Service or Voter’s Registration card.
- At the time of registration, all examinees must provide the test center with an Official Transcript of GED Practice Test Results Form signed by the Supervisor of any Adult Education Center.
- 17 year olds must have an Eligibility for Enrollment in Adult Education form completed, two forms of identification as described above and the signed official practice test results form.
- All examinees ages 18 and older must not be either enrolled in an accredited high school or have received a regular diploma from an accredited high school.
Retesting:
- An examinee may retest three times during any one calendar year using a different form of the test each time.
- An examinee must honor the 30-day study period before retesting.
- Exceptions:
- Study period waived by the Assessment Center due to unusual circumstances.
- ABE instructor or private tutor’s request based on progressive pre-test results.
SPECIAL ACCOMMODATION TESTING AND TRANSCRIPT: Available upon request within due processing time.
