Continuing Education FAQ
Should I pre-register?
YES!! Preregistration along with payment reserves a space for you in the course and helps us determine whether the course has enough participants to be held.
May I pay later?
Unfortunately not. Registration is not complete unless we receive your payment. Class enrollment must meet the minimum number required to meet expenses.
What about books?
All course fees include books unless otherwise stated.
If my class is cancelled, will I be notified?
JSCC reserves the right to cancel Continuing Education classes with insufficient enrollment. Enrollees will be notified of class cancellation at least 24 hours before the class is scheduled to meet. We will notifiy you by telephone during our business hours. Therefore, when you register, please include both daytime and evening phone numbers where you can be reached. If this number involves an answering machine, please check for a message the day before the class is due to meet.
What is the withdrawal and refund policy?
You must submit your request to withdraw to us in writing: either in person,by mail or fax (731-424-2641). Failure to attend the class does not imply withdrawal. For any class, if we receive your written withdrawal by 8:00 am at least 5 business before the first class meeting, you will receive a full refund of the course fee, less a $40 processing fee. Please allow three to four weeks for processing of refunds. Confirmed registrants who do not attend the class, or who cancel less than 5 business days before the first class meeting are responsible for the entire registration fee. You may send a substitute in your place in you cannot attend.
When JSCC or the Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development cancels a class, course fees may be either refunded or applied to another similar continuing education class listed in the current schedule.
