Student Logon Information
Jackson State students now use personal logon accounts to access classroom computer resources on any of the campuses.
LATE REGISTRATION: If you register during late registration, your logon account will be ready by noon on the following day.
Please read each of the following which explains student logons and their benefit to you.

Your logon account will be in the format of: first initial + middle initial + last name, e.g. jqstudent. Initially, your password will be the same as your PIN which you use to login to Web for Students to register or check your grades. More information regarding password changes is listed below.
If you take online classes at Jackson State, the logon account, though not necessarily the password/PIN, will be the same as your WebCT account.

If you do not remember your PIN, you can show your photo ID at the following locations:

- When you sit down to work at a classroom computer, you should see the following NOTICE TO USERS.
Please read this message carefully. It contains important information for you. After you have read the message, click on OK to procede to the Logon screen.
If you do not see the NOTICE TO USERS, you must Logoff. See below for detailed instructions. - The logon screen should look like the one below.
- Type your account in the User Name field, press Tab or mouse click in the Password field and enter your password. The Log On To field should always be JSCC. The dial-up checkbox should NEVER be checked.
You should always use your logon to access classroom computer resources. By doing so, you will have access to your home directory.
- Logoff by clicking on the Start button.
- Next, click on Logoff.
It is VERY important that you logoff properly. Anyone who sits down to a computer that you are logged onto will have access to all of your files that you have stored in your home directory.
Your home directory is a networked folder to which you have exclusive access when you logon to any classroom computer. You can use your home directory by using the H:\ drive. Also, anything you save to My Documents or Desktop will be saved in your home directory, as will any Favorites that you add to Internet Explorer. You can save any number of files with a maximum storage limit of 20MB. Please be aware that unauthorized copying or distributing of proprietary music, video, software programs, and database information via this system and network is strictly prohibited.
Your Jackson State e-mail address will be your logon account + @class.jscc.edu , like jqstudent@class.jscc.edu. The password will initially be the same as your PIN. More information regarding password changes is listed below.
Windows Installer is preparing to install...
When you open an application that uses Windows Installer to configure it, such as any Microsoft Office application, the Installer will configure the application for you. This will occur only once for each application per computer that you logon to.
NOTE: Changes to your PIN in Web for Students will affect Student Self Service and WebCT only. When you change your password in any other systems, the change wil not affect any of the other systems. The following table should help to clarify. Any change in the password policy will be reflected here.
If you change your password in a system in the first column, only systems with a Yes in the corresponding column will be affected.
