B.S. Nursing, University of North Alabama; Certificate of Nurse-Midwifery, Frontier University; M.S. in Nursing, Case Western Reserve University
I came to JSCC in January 2017 after practicing as a Certified Nurse-Midwife in the Jackson area for 16 years. During that time I delivered somewhere between 3500 and 4000 babies. Whew! It was time to slow down a little and concentrate on educating the next generation of nurses!
I have a HUGE passion for advocacy with women, children, the homeless, the expolited, and those in need. I spend as much time as possible volunteering for a local organization (the Scarlet Rope Project) whose goal is to help victims of sex/human trafficking escape the bondage that it entails. Mission work is also extremely important to me, and I make it a priority to go to Nicaragua every summer on a medical mission trip with my church.
My husband, Marshall, and I have been happily married since 2013. I have a daughter, Maloree (20) who is a nursing student at the University of Tennessee Knoxville; two sons, Tanner (16) and Preston (11) who are students at South Gibson High School and Medina Middle School; and a step-son, Shoaf (14) who attends Lebanon High School. And we have a dog...Ziggy...he runs the house. :)
