Fortner represents JSCC at Distance Learning Association

Jackson State Community College associate professor of sociology, Emily Fortner participated in the 2016 Distance Learning Association June 19-22 meeting at Jekyll Island, Georgia.

The meeting was attended by faculty, staff and administrators from colleges and universities throughout the United States.

Her paper, "Teaching Multiple Online Sections/Courses: Tactics and Techniques" with Dr. Rodger Bates and Bryan LaBrecque of Clayton State University, discussed the challenges of time management, instructional design, delivery and assessment.

Their paper was published in the Conference Proceedings.

Fortner serves as the online course designer for sociology courses and has been a faculty member at Jackson State Community College since 2007.
