Student Government Association
We, the students of Jackson State Community College, in order to promote the welfare of each student attending this institution, to train ourselves in the general principles of democratic government, and to prepare ourselves to assume the privileges and responsibilities as citizens of the United States of America, and in order to strive for the expansion and protection of student rights on the JSCC campuses, do ordain and establish this Student Government Association Constitution.
The purpose of the JSCC-SGA is to provide a formal process for student input into the governance of the institution, to control all matters which are delegated to the SGA by the administration of JSCC, to work cooperatively with the administration in all matters affecting the welfare of the student body, and to promote the best possible understanding between faculty, administration, and students. In all its endeavors, the SGA shall strive to represent the best interest of the student body as a whole and to reflect favorably upon JSCC.

Office Hours:
SGA Officers will be available in the SGA Office (SU-8 across from the bookstore) to assist students throughout the day and evening. During the fall and spring semesters, SGA officers will have their office hours posted outside their office for your convenience.

Elections for Freshman Senators and Secretary/Treasurer will be September 26-30 by classroom ballot. If you would like to run for a position in SGA, please print and complete the petition below by Friday, September 23.
