TISL Overview/Purpose - To promote interest in both state and federal government, strive for a more perfect knowledge and experience of judicial and legislative processes, provide leadership training in an environment that permits the expression and examinationof a wide range of ideas, and promote cooperation in solving problems of general interest to the Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature.

 

JSCC students joined over two hundred delegates attending was required to submit at least one bill to be heard by the House and Senate. The General Assembly  votes and recommends no more than twenty of those bills to send to State Legislature for review for law each November. This year, of those twenty bills, two were from our JSCC students!!

JSCC was also recognized as Best Delegation Overall.
Bill Mathews was one of eight (out of two hundred) delegates awarded the Carlisle Award for Best Delegate.
Eric Henson was named Vice Chairman of the 40th General Assembly's Small School Caucus.
