Physical Therapist Assistant Club

The Physical Therapist Assistant Club of Jackson State Community College is an organization established to cultivate, promote and sustain the art and science of physical therapy, to represent and safeguard the common interest of the members of the physical therapy profession, and to contribute toward the improvement of the health of the public.

Membership consists of an unlimited number of physical therapist assistant students who are enrolled in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program of Jackson State Community College.

During the 2008 fall semester the PTA Club hosted in conjunction with the JSCC Health Fair a "Nothing to lose but the weight" competition.  Our congratulations goes out to Pete O'Brien, Allied Health's MLT Program Director, for sticking with it and getting to his optimal weight.  Pete won prizes such as gym memberships to "Snap" Fittness and "Aquatherapies" both of Jackson.  The money raised from this event and our "Trick or Treating" went to support patients with Lymphedema.  Please see our photo album for pictures of all of our fun club activities.

This Spring our second year students are on clinical rotations all over west Tennessee and the club has missed them terribly.  We have plans to cook out this spring to raise money for a charity to be determined.
