SGA Meeting: April 4, 2008
SGA Minutes # 12
4/2/08
Those present were as follows: SGA President; Kevin Newhouse, SGA VP; Beth Grissom, SGA Secretary; Bill Mathews, Commissioners; Candace Burton, Christina Brown, Jennifer Brown, and Nicole McCoy.
Those not present were as follows: Commissioner; Joey Velie, Steve Cornelison, and representation from the office of Student Services.
Call to Order
Kevin called the meeting to order at 2:02 pm, and handed out the agendas.
Reading of the Minutes
Bill read the minutes from the previous meeting. Nic ole made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Candace seconded the motion, and all were for accepting; motion carried.
Old Business
Nicole said that Lisa would leave her key to the closet on a key ring in her desk.
Alcohol Awareness Day
Kevin reminded us all that help was needed after the meeting to set up for tomorrow's Alcohol Awareness Day.
Nicole explained the changes being made in the theme of the event from tiki bar to pirate ship and asked about karaoke for the entertainment.
Kevin said that he thought it would be a great idea and everyone agreed.
Nicole said that the Health Department and the Sheriff's Department would be at the event talking about the relationship between sex, drugs, and sexually transmitted diseases.
Awards Ceremony
Kevin informed the group that refreshments would be served after the ceremony.
Dancing With the Professors
Everyone was excited about the upcoming event. Kevin said that Innovations would sing after the contest part of the program is over.
Campus Beat Day
Nicole said that no one has any idea what this thing is so we are ignoring it altogether. Apparently Bill must have misunderstood this and may have confused it with Nicole's proposal to help clean up our campus. If there is anything to it, it will turn up somewhere.

Kevin adjourned the meeting at 2:14pm.
