Disabled Student Services
Important: Please Read Student Responsibilities
At Jackson State Community College, we want students with disabling conditions to have every opportunity to succeed. We strive to provide reasonable accommodations so that no student, solely because of their disability, will be excluded from any college activity or function. Our admissions policies do not limit the number of disabled persons who may attend or be served.
We want college to be a positive and rewarding experience for you. We are here to help you reach your goals and overcome your challenges!
The Disabled Student Services Office staff will be a liaison between people with disabilities and Jackson State Community College faculty, staff and students. We work with you to:
- Coordinate and provide support services
- Advise faculty and staff on appropriate accommodations
- Assist in planning accessibility for campus facilities
- Provide disability training
- Make referrals
For students coming to Jackson State after having received services in high school, please read: Students With Disabilities Preparing for Postsecondary Education: Know Your Rights and Responsibilities
Disabled Student Services is located in the Student Union, Room 13. Please come by during our office hours between 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, or call or e-mail us. We are here to help!
