Presidential Search

 

Timeline

In order to move forward with finalizing JSCC’s presidential search during the COVID-19 pandemic, the decision has been made to hold virtual meetings for each finalist.

The meeting dates are scheduled for Monday, May 11, Tuesday, May 12, and Wednesday, May 13.  Additional information on the schedules for each finalist will be shared as details are finalized.

Dr. George PimentelDr. George Pimentel currently serves as the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, TN. Dr. Pimentel was formerly a Professor of History, Dean of the Social Science Division, and Director of the Honors Program at Volunteer State Community College. Before he came to Volunteer State, he was assistant to the Dean of Liberal Arts at Middle Tennessee State University.

Dr. Pimentel grew up in Lawrenceburg TN and is an alumnus of Middle Tennessee State University, earning a Doctor of Arts degree in History. He is also a veteran of the US Army and deployed as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Global War on Terrorism.

Dr. Pimentel has led the way for the implementation and use of the Guided Pathways System (GPS) at Volunteer State, a model that benefits both students and faculty as it impacts student preparedness, engagement, retention, and completion. His interest in championing the GPS model is focused on student success and providing a clearer pathway towards graduation.

Paige NiehausPaige Niehaus is currently the Provost for Strategic Initiatives and Executive Director for the Design Center at Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) in Detroit, MI. Prior to WCCCD, she was at Joliet Junior College in Joliet, IL, for 24 years and served as the Director of Workforce Development from 2011 to 2015. In total, she has over 28 years of community college experience.

She earned a Doctor of Education in Community College Leadership from Ferris State University, and both a Master of Science in Training in Development and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Organizational Management from the University of St. Francis. Paige is a community college graduate having earned an Associate of Applied Science and an Associate in Arts at Joliet Junior College.

Paige is active in her community. As a member of the Rotary Club of Grosse Pointe, she serves on the Community Affairs, Youth Exchange, and Scholarship committees. Paige is also the secretary and executive board member for The Family Center, and vice president of the board of directors for the Grosse Pointe Public Library Foundation. She lives with her husband Gary in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI. She has three grown children, three step-children, and four step-granddaughters.

Jeff JochemsJeff Jochems, Ed.D. is the President/Vice Chancellor at Ozarks Technical Community College, Richwood Valley Campus, in Nixa, Missouri. He previously served as Assistant Vice President, Administrative Services, at Ozarks Technical Community College in Springfield, Missouri. Dr. Jochems earned a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership at the University of Arkansas, in Fayetteville, Arkansas; a Master of Science in Education in Higher Education — Student Personnel at the University of Kansas, in Lawrence, Kansas; a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management at Washburn University, in Topeka, Kansas; and an Associate of Science in Business at Pratt Community College, in Pratt, Kansas. Dr. Jochems has over 28 years of experience in the community college setting including the last eight plus years as a campus president, four years in administrative services, and over 15 years in student services.
