Duties
Overview:
Greets, instructs, directs and schedules patients. Serves as liaison between the patient and medical support staff. Provides a variety of clerical and filing duties. Assists patients with questions regarding insurance claims and billing issues. Responsible for ensuring that patient information is correct. Under the general supervision of Clinic Manager. Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.
Responsibilities:
Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner
Updates necessary information in the medical record
Assists patients with ambulatory difficulties
Identifies billing issues and works to correct any issues that inhibit collections
Makes patient appointments, ensures all demographic information is correct
Answers telephone, screen calls, takes messages, provides information to facilitate patient flow
Sorts and delivers mail and other records
Must be able to handle cash, balance and reconcile daily cash and charges
Maintains work area and lobby in a safe, neat and orderly manner
Photocopies and scans records as needed with proper approval
Assist in maintenance of equipment use and care
Uses cost-effective measures in day-to-day operations
Contributes to a positive work climate and overall team effort of the department and clinic. Greets guests in accordance with our Guest Excellence Principles and AIDET
Adheres to WTH Compliance Policy at all times
Performs related responsibilities as required or directed
Qualifications
Education:
High school education required
Experience:
One (1) year of experience in healthcare clinical setting
