Duties

The Brownsville Haywood County Chamber of Commerce (Tennessee) is seeking a new Executive Director. With the recent announcement of Ford Motor Company’s Blue Oval City, the entire region is positioned for growth. The ideal Executive Director will be enthusiastic, hard-working, adept at marketing, and have a strong community development focus. He or she will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to be in on the ground floor of one of the most exciting times of positive change for West Tennessee. Qualified applicants must exhibit the ability to:

Provide excellent communication, marketing, and follow-through positioning Brownsville-Haywood County as the best place to work, live, and raise a family.

Manage collaborative government, educational, business, industrial, and non-profit relationships.

Have the ability to build consensus and manage community development/community building projects.

Coordinate efforts to enhance workforce development for K-12, as well as higher education initiatives, to instill skill sets needed by Blue Oval City and other industries.

Manage and enhance chamber-led volunteer and leadership initiatives, as well as small business educational programs and initiatives.

Collaborate with local and regional government, social, and private entities to enhance tourism efforts.

Assist, as needed, in industrial recruitment initiatives with local and regional governments and partners.

Qualified applicants also must possess a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or have equivalent experience. Preference will be provided to applicants whose field of study or experience consists extensively of business administration, community development, marketing, or closely related field. Applicant must reside within Haywood County, Tennessee, within 12 months of hire date.
