Program and Career Description

Majoring in mathematics may lead to a variety of exciting and unique careers. Most careers in
mathematics require a bachelor’s degree or higher. A mathematics degree can lead to a career in actuarial science, business and management, computer programming and analysis, education, operations research, statistics, and engineering. Students successfully completing the AS in Mathematics at Jackson State will have strong analytical abilities that will provide the necessary academic skills appropriate to pursue a bachelor’s degree in a mathematics related program.
