High School Equivalency Test

Jackson State Community College is now offering adult education classes for anyone needing a high school diploma. Our program will allow people to study and prepare for the HiSET test (previously known as GED) and gain their high school equivalency.

The HiSET exam consists of five subject areas:

  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • a two-part writing test that requires an essay

After passing all five tests a high school equivalency is awarded.

If you are interested in obtaining your high school equivalent, please contact Jennifer Curtis at (731) 425-2628 to set up an appointment for orientation. All classes and practice testing are free. Jackson State offers day and evening classes at multiple locations in Madison, Gibson and Henry Counties.
