Durfuri Refugee to Speak at Jackson State

Jackson, Tenn. - Jackson State Community College will present Ibrahim Adam, a refugee from Darfur, as a guest speaker at Noon on Wednesday, April 9 in Ayers Auditorium in the McWherter Center.

Adam is a part of 'Voices of Darfur,' a national speaking tour, presented by the student anti-genocide coalition, STAND. The event is being sponsored on campus by JSCC student club Nation Against Genocide and the Student Government Association.

'Voice of Darfur' features a short documentary film followed by a personal account of the genocide from survivors like Adam. As many as 400,000 people have been killed and 2.5 million displaced.
