Jackson State Celebrates 45th Graduation Ceremony

Jackson State Community College celebrated its 45th graduation ceremony, at 2 p.m. May 11, 2013, in Jacksons Oman Arena. About 520 students graduated in this ceremony.

This years guest speaker was Mr. Steve Bowers. Bowers received his Associate of Arts from Freed Hardeman University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Harding University. He has worked four decades in media and communications. His career has spanned radio, television and newspaper.

Currently, Bowers co-hosts Daybreak and produces and hosts Prime Time Drive at News-Talk 101.5. He hosts and produces shows as the Television and Media Manager at E+TV6 and the Jackson Energy Authority.

Bowers has spent his entire post-college adult life in West Tennessee. He is praised for his community involvement through the Boys and Girls Club, The Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce and Ayers Childrens Medical Center. The Jackson Exchange Club honored Bowers in 2012 by naming his Man of the Year.
