Jan 30th, 2008

Jackson, TN. - Jackson State Community College will offer Wine Tasting classes this spring through the Division of Continuing Education and the Work Force Development. These classes will be held at the Old Medina Winery on 2894 Old Medina Rd. Jackson, TN 38305.

There will be two courses offered; the first course runs from February 7-March 13 at the Old Medina Winery 7-9 p.m. for a fee of $75.00. In this course students will taste and learn the six classic wine types each named after its grape of origin. Wines include: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Pinot Noir.

The second course runs from April 13-24 at the Old Medina Winery 7-9 p.m. for a fee of $75.00. This course will be discussing alternative wines, and is an opportunity for students to expand their knowledge and broaden their horizons by introducing students to wines that are unfamiliar to the average drinker. These alternatives offer a lot of pleasure in taste, aroma, and price.
