Roberson Selected as 2014 Coca-Cola Leader of Promise Scholar

JSCC student Joshua Roberson has been selected as a 2014 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar. This scholarship is designed to provide new Phi Theta Kappa members with financial resources to help defray educational expenses while enrolled in a two-year college while also encouraging participation in Society programs. This years recipients were selected by a panel of independent judges from more than 900 applicants. Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholars are selected based on outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated leadership potential.The program awards up to 200 scholarships of $1,000 each.

Joshua is a sophomore and is scheduled to graduate in May 2015. At that time, he will receive an AA in Foreign Language and an AS in General Studies. Upon graduation, Joshua plans to pursue a BA in Management and Human Relations through the Trevecca program on the JSCC campus. His ultimate career goal is a career in human resource management.

While at JSCC, Joshua has been actively involved in a number of activities and held several positions. He is currently the SGA secretary/treasurer and Spanish club secretary. As a student worker, he works in the office at the Lexington Campus and also tutors anatomy and physiology. He also served as president of LASSO in the 2013-14 academic year.
