The Jackson State Men’s basketball program would like to announce the signing of Russell Avery from Lake County High School. Avery is a 6-6 WF that averaged 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocked shots per game. Avery was voted All-District, All-Region, and  All-State his Senior year while leading Lake County to a 31-5 record.


3 Generals Moving On

The Generals Men’s basketball program would like to congratulate 3 players that are moving on to the new schools. Stanley McNeil (Union University), Quincy Scates (Tennessee Wesleyan), and Mike Williams (Western Carolina University) were the base of a Generals team that finished 16-7 and 2nd place in the TJCCAA Western Division. McNeil finished the season with a 19.7 ppg average and was voted All TJCCAA Western Division and All TJCCAA/NJCAA Region VII. Scates averaged 12.3 ppg and lead the team in rebounds with a 6.2 average. Williams averaged 18.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 2.1 steals Williams was also voted All TJCCAA Western Division and All TJCCAA/NJCAA Region VII. We wish these young men the best of luck at their new institutions.

Generals drop second round game

Jackson State lost in the second round of the TCCAA / Region VII tournament to Cleveland 3-2. The Generals will face host Columbia State tomorrow in an elimination game at 12noon.

Generals beat Volunteer in opening round

The Jackson State baseball team defeated Volunteer State in the first round of the TCCAA / Region VII baseball tournament in Columbia, TN. Davis Pearce drove in Matt Hargis in the bottom half of the 8th inning. Tyler Farley (8 ip, 7 so, 4 hits) earned his ninth win of the year as Jackson improves to 33-16. The Generals will face Cleveland State Tuesday at 4:30pm.
