Academic Pathways/Majors

Jackson State Community College is committed to fostering student success through two key institutional goals:

  1. University Parallel Curricula: The college offers AA, AS, and AST degree programs that allow students to complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree. These programs are designed to ensure a seamless transfer to a four-year university or college.

  2. Career-Focused Programs: The AAS degree programs provide students with the necessary skills for entry-level employment in various industries, equipping them to meet the demands of business or technical careers.

Transfer Pathways

The College/University Transfer Program consists of pathways in 31 academic and pre-professional areas designed for students desiring to transfer to a four-year college or university to work toward a baccalaureate degree. Upon the successful completion of the requirements, students will receive an Associate of Arts, an Associate of Science, or an Associate of Science in Teaching degree.

Career Ready Degrees

Jackson State offers the Associate of Applied Science degree in 16 concentration areas. These professional and technical programs are designed for the student who does not intend to transfer to a four-year college or university to work toward a baccalaureate degree.
