Nationally Recognized Equivalency Exams 

Jackson State Community College accepts and awards credit for several national equivalency exams. Below is a list of the most common exams we accept. 

Advanced Placement (AP) Exams are a series of tests developed by the College Board initially for AP High School courses, including 34 exams in 19 subject areas. For more information visit http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/subjects.html. Course credit will be granted to students presenting Advanced Placement examination grades of three or higher in courses accepted by JSCC. Inquiries concerning Advanced Placement should be forwarded to the Records Office. A letter grade of "P" (Pass) will be assigned for credit granted. 

AP exams accepted by JSCC

College Level Examination Program (CLEP) Exams offers 33 exams in 5 different subject areas offered by the College Board. Most CLEP test cover lower level and introductory knowledge of certain subjects, many of which fall within general education requirements. The cost is typically $80-90 per exam. JSCC is not an official testing station for CLEP but for test sites and more information please visit http://clep.collegeboard.org/. Once the test is complete to receive credit Students should have official CLEP scores sent to the Records Office from The College Board. An evaluation for possible credit will be made. If credit is awarded a letter grade of “P” (Pass) will be assigned for credit granted.
