Success and Innovation Scholarship

Each year, the college applies to the Tennessee Board of Regents for continued funding, which is administered by the college's Success and Innovation Committee.

This scholarship is awarded based on a Scoring Rubric that includes points for Financial Need, Non-Traditional Students (Age 23+), 1st Generation College Student (if your parents/guardians have not earned a bachelor’s degree), Military Service, and Time to JSCC degree completion.

The Scholarship Application deadline for Spring 2026 is December 1, 2025. Scholarship recipients will be notified via campus email by January 15, 2026.

JSCC Foundation Scholarships

These scholarships are provided by the Jackson State Community College Foundation and are intended to increase access to Jackson State. They are made possible by contributions from businesses, civic organizations, clubs, and individuals in the college service area. These scholarships are reserved for students who are seeking their first associate's degree.

Academic Service Scholarship

This scholarship is a state-funded program that requires 75 hours of service to the college for each semester the student receives the scholarship. All students are welcome to apply, but preference is given to students who meet one of the following criteria:

(1) First-time freshmen who have a minimum high school college grade point average (GPA) of 2.9 and, have an ACT composite score of 19 or above.

a. Students who have completed less than twelve (12) credit hours will be considered a first-time freshman.

b. First-time freshmen who completed a high school equivalency (HSE) program (formerly called GED), must have a score of 510 or above.

(2) Transfer students or students who are not considered first-time freshmen who have a minimum 2.9 GPA or better.

The Scholarship Application deadline for Spring 2026 is November 15, 2025. Scholarship recipients will be notified via campus email by December 22, 2025. Notification will include the placement where the student will complete their 75 hours of service. Applications received after November 15, 2025 will continue to be held for consideration of the scholarship for the Spring 2026 term in the event additional funds are available.

Athletic Scholarships

These scholarships are offered by the Jackson State Athletic Department for men's and women's basketball, as well as women's softball and men's baseball. Contact the athletic department at (731) 425-2649 for additional information. Athletes are also encouraged to apply for federal student aid.
