Institutional Research and Accountability

Mission and Responsibilities

The primary mission of the Office of Institutional Research and Accountability is to assist Jackson State Community College in all aspects of the institutional planning process. The Office of Institutional Research and accountability is responsible for four major areas related to institutional planning:

  • Institutional Research- Includes QAF (quality assurance funding) report, Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) reporting, other external data requests, internal surveys, ad hoc data requests, and visualization of institutional metrics.  The Director of Institutional Research and Accountability serves as Chair of the Institutional Reiew Board.
  • Institutional Effectiveness- Oversees the development and assists with completion of Institutional Effectiveness (IE) plans for each academic, student, and administrative support unit as well as all educational programs (including the assessment of student learning within the General Education core).
  • Strategic Planning- Assists in the development and implementation of the institutional strategic plan. 
  • Accreditation- Assists with institutional accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), assists with programmatic accreditation of accredited programs, and coordinates the academic audit process of non externally-accredited educational programs.
