Hardeman County School District, Information Technology Specialist

Duties

 Troubleshoot and repair of workstations whether software or hardware related

 Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records and paperwork from arrival and placement, to disposal of the inventoried item.

 Oversees and performs data entry for inventory received, and dispatched. Entry includes quantity, cost, location, specifications, and destination.

 Check shipments for soundness, condition, shortage or discrepancies.

 Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits in the school district.

 Troubleshoot and repair projectors, printers, and mobile devices

 Image and setup computers/laptops/Chromebooks/iPads

 Communicate efficiently with supervisor, and Librarian/Principal over software/hardware repairs

 Work with hardware/software vendors on technology solutions, support and maintenance

 Work with Technology Assistants at each school

 Software installation/implementation/upgrades/support

 Support specialized software such as Frontline Help Desk Software, and others

 Support schools in repair of student assigned hardware

 Support computer labs including vocational, middle and high school labs

 Maintain educational background with current technology trends

 Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include High School diploma or equivalent, and at least 3 years in technology repair field experience. Past experience should include extensive hardware/software repair, and the use of technology, as this position requires a high level of knowledge in the use and application of personal computing. Preference will be given to individuals with an Associate’s Degree and to the individual having experience with PC-compatible computers, particularly in: networking; hardware maintenance; Office Suites (particularly Google Workspace and Microsoft Office); multimedia applications; and mobile devices (Chromebooks/iPads). Experience in using spreadsheet software is a must. Must be organized, self-motivated, and have excellent analytical skills. Must be able to pass background check and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must be able to lift/carry minimum of 25 lbs., and as much as 50 lbs. on occasion. Must be able to climb a ladder. Industry experience in computer technology, as well as A+ and Network+ certifications, is a plus, but not required.
