Academic Assistance Center Tutoring
The AAC offers JSCC students FREE tutoring in as many disciplines as we are able to enlist tutors. Our tutors are recommended by faculty from most academic areas. We are fully accredited by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) at Level 3, Level 2, and Level 1.*
Developmental Math tutoring is available in the Smart Center .
We provide tutoring in the AAC in:
Sciences
College Math
Business
Nursing
Computer software
Spanish
To request a tutor, fill out the Tutor Request Form and email to vjones@jscc.edu or bring to the AAC.
Ms. Veronica Jones will work with you to set an appropriate appointment.
In addition, the AAC staff assists students in using SMARTHINKING, an on-line tutoring program JSCC has made available to its students, anywhere, any time.

Password: Student's eight digit birth date (yyyymmdd). (19820124) (explanation: year 1982; month January; day 24).
*The Tutoring Program is certified as Level III by the College Reading and Learning Association or CRLA. This is an international board of certification for tutoring programs. First a program must meet certain criteria to be certified, and then the tutors can work toward certification on three levels: I, II, and/or III.
