Pool Technician (Part-time)

Duties

Job Summary:

Responsible for all pool area duties, cleaning, assisting members and assisting with training new employees.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Cleans all stainless steel in pool area, stainless on pools, including rails and lifeguard stands
  • Assists in maintaining pool area cleanliness, including vacuuming and monitors department inventory of equipment and supplies, notifying appropriate personnel of shortages and needed replacements
  • Making sure all equipment in equipment room and chemical room is in working order and notifies appropriate personnel of anything that needs attention
  • Assist in training new employees
  • Checks Co2 tanks, chlorine tablets, checks chemicals as directed and document on chemical log
  • Checks off on tech duty list during each shift
  • Checks on and assist members with questions or if they need assistance in the water
  • Performs related responsibilities as assigned or directed 

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma

Licensure, Registration, Certification:

  • CPR Certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire
  • Certified pool operator preferred but not required

Experience: 

  • Prior pool experience preferred but not required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read, write, perform simple mathematical calculations, and follow written procedures as normally required through 2-3 months for orientation an on-the-job training

Interpersonal Requirements: 

  • Good communication skills and in frequent contact with members and possible caregivers
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other hospital departments and departments within the wellness center including but not limited to medical staff, visitors, laundry, front desk, member services, fitness staff, and the general public

Physical Demands: 

  • Ability to assist with members and lift up to 20 lbs.

Other Job Requirements:

  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Able to multitask
