Access and Diversity Scholarship
These scholarships were created to provide financial support for students who are members of targeted underrepresented groups at Jackson State Community College. Current targeted groups are non-native speakers of English, adult students age 25 and older, African American males, and persons who are a nontraditional gender in their major, such as men in nursing or women in engineering. The college applies to the Tennessee Board of Regents each year for continued funding, which then is administered by the college's Diversity Committee. Deadlines for each semester are listed on the application.

This scholarship is a state-funded program that requires 75 hours of service to the college each semester. Preference is given to students who apply by March 15th and who meet one of the following criteria: (1) Incoming freshmen who have a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) and, have an ACT composite score of 19 or above. (2) JSCC sophomores who have a 3.0 GPA or better. (3) HSE (formerly called GED) of 510 or above.
