Jackson, Tenn. -- Jackson State Community College is proud to announce the first graduates in its public library certificate program.
Pauline Vaughn of Estill Springs, Tenn., who works at the Coffee County Lannom Memorial Public Library in Manchester, Tenn., and Sharon Timbs of Covington, Tenn., who works at the Tipton County Public Library in Covington, were the first students at Jackson State to complete requirements for the certificate.
This online course of study is designed for public library support staff and for those interested in a career in public library service. This certificate can assist individuals in getting a greater degree of competency at their present level of employment or aid in career advancement.
Completion of the certificate requires six intensive courses and results in 18 hours of college credit.
