The Tennessee Board of Regents has approved four new certificate options for JSCC students.

Three new Academic Certificates have also been approved: General Education for AA/AS Degrees; General Education for AAS Degrees; and Pre-Allied Health. These certificates allow for students to have a 'check out' point during their journey towards completion of the Associate Degree. The General Education for AA/AS Degrees Academic Certificate may be awarded to students who complete the 41 credit hours of general education required in a transfer program. The General Education for AAS Degrees Academic Certificate may be awarded to students who complete the 15-17 credit hours of general education that is required for Associate of Applied Science degrees in the areas of Business, Computer Information Systems or Industrial Technology. The Pre-Allied Health Academic Certificate may be awarded to students who complete the 23 credit hours of general education that is needed for one of JSCC's allied health or nursing programs.
