Jackson State received a $5,000 donation from APICS on July 25, 2012. Mike McCaghren and Bob Castleman delivered the check to Jackson State president, Dr. Bruce Blanding, on behalf of APICS.

APICS began in 1957 when twenty production control managers met in Cleveland, Ohio, to form the American Production and Inventory Control Society, now known as APICS, The Association for Operations Management.

McCaghren was the past president of the golden circle chapter of APICS. Castlemen was representing the region for APICS.

'APICS focuses on operations management and supply chain bodies of knowledge and Jackson State is one of two enterprises in West Tennessee whose focus corresponds with the APICS mission,' said McCaghren.
