JSCC Phi Theta Kappa chapter recognized nationally for membership development

Apr 7th, 2023

The Jackson State Community College (JSCC) Phi Theta Kappa Chi Omicron chapter has been recognized as a REACH chapter for 2022. As part of its REACH program, Phi Theta Kappa is rewarding and recognizing select Phi Theta chapters for their excellence in membership development by achieving outstanding rates of membership acceptance in 2022.

“This achievement was earned thanks to the hard work and commitment of the members of our PTK chapter and its leadership team here at Jackson State,” said PTK faculty advisor David Hart. “I congratulate our PTK students for earning this recognition from PTK’s REACH program.”

To acknowledge their achievements, Jackson State Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter will receive graduation stoles in recognition of this reward. The stoles will be distributed to and worn by select chapter officers or members during graduation.

When informed of this achievement, President Dr. George Pimentel said, “Our PTK chapter exudes excellence at every level, with members earning high accolades both inside and outside the organization. This chapter embodies the core values of PTK and I’m proud to see them recognized for this achievement.”
