Mary Jane Bassett, dean of academic support at Jackson State Community College, has been named a National Center of Academic Transformation (NCAT) Scholar.
Bassett is one the redesign scholars that will help teams from various institutions to engage in a series of planning tasks for redesigning methods. She helped Betty Frost, who also is an NCAT Scholar, to lead the team at Jackson State to redesign the remedial and developmental math sequences in the college. Modularization, mastery learning, multi-exit options, and the SMART Math Center were part of the team
