Linda Nickell Promoted to Interim Vice President of Student Services

Linda Nickell, Interim Vice President of Student Services, has been with the college more than 21 years. For the past five years she has been Dean of Students supervising the colleges Counseling and Career Center, Student Job Placement, Veterans Services, Disability Services, Student Conduct, and as a member of the schools Student Intervention Team and Immediate Response Team. She previously has served as Dean of Enrollment Management supervising Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Records offices; and as Assistant Vice President for Students Services including all these areas in addition to Athletics, advising the Student Government Association and student organizations.

She currently serves as president-elect of the Tennessee Association of Higher Education and Disability, as secretary of the Jackson-Madison County Anti-Drug Coalition, and as a member of the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerces Leadership University Board of Directors.

A St. Louis-area native, she graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism, and worked in the newspaper business for more than 10 years. She later returned to school and received her master's degree in counseling and student personnel services from the University of Memphis.
