Team JSCC Supports Arthritis Foundation

Nov 17th, 2014

Students, faculty and staff of JSCC came together Saturday morning, November 15 to participate in the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis. The team had 36 members and was recognized as one of the most supportive of the fundraising effort. The team had an original goal to recruit 10 members and raise $1,000. They raised $2,431 for the cause.

For their efforts, they won the award for most money raised by a new team. Additionally, twelve of the team members won medals in their age categories for the 5K race.

Several members of the JSCC Generals Baseball Team also helped park cars, staff racing placement tables, and hold directional signs to assist runners in finding their way to the finish line. Many who couldnt run or walk donated money to the cause. It was truly a campus-wide effort, and the group agreed that JSCCs participation in the event should become a JSCC tradition.
