Duties
Overview
Serves as an objective third party striving to understand multiple perspectives of employee relations. Coaches and consults with all levels of management and provides advice, assistance, and follow-up on policies, procedures, and documentation. Coordinates the resolution of specific human resources policy-related and procedural problems and support in functional areas of HR. Coordinates or assists with HR special projects including new employee orientation, the unemployment claims process, termination reports, and the exit interview process. Under the direct supervision of the Employee Relations Manager.
Responsibilities
Provides coaching to directors and mangers in dealing with employee relations issues such as performance improvement actions, legal challenges, etc.
Helps employees, managers and department directors to settle work-related conflicts through advice and recommendation
Assists with WTH unemployment process as required
Contributes to a positive work environment and overall team effort of the department, including vision, mission, and values
Supports HR Department with special projects as requested
Coordinates or assists with the exit interview process to determine if corrective action may retain valued staff
Discusses exit interview findings with administration and management as appropriate
Responsible for researching current laws that effect HR including American with Disabilities Act, Civil Rights Act and Family Medical Leave Act
Responsible for coordinating or assisting with employee communication on essential information including preparation for newsletters and other reports to communicate information about employee concerns, processes , and comments
Responsible for coordinating or assisting with new employee orientation including facilitation, and preparation
Train, facilitate and disseminate information on HR policies, programs, practices, and procedures
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field. Skill and proficiency in the principles, concepts, and techniques of Human Resource policies and procedures
Licensure, Registration, Certification
PHR/SPHR preferred
Experience
Knowledge in Human Resources profession is normally acquired through three (3) or more years of experience in Human Resources
