Applied Technology is the backbone or our Nation’s infrastructure. Technology is the driving force for business and industry. Without current technologies, organizations cannot compete in the worldwide marketplace. The Computer Information Technology and Engineering Systems Technology programs at Jackson State Community College prepare students to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade equipment that is part of the growing technology needs of business and industry.

The Computer Information Technology programs provide students with the technical skills necessary to compete in today's information technology environment. The quality of our programs is maintained by updating the content of existing courses, adding new courses, and purchasing state-of-the-art computer equipment and software. The program offers degree opportunities for people interested in computer hardware repair, cyber defense, networking and computer programming.

The Engineering Systems Technology program’s primary objective is to provide a broad foundation of theoretical and practical knowledge in the areas of electrical and electronic circuits, electrical machinery, programmable logic controllers, robotics, mechanical and hydraulics/pneumatics equipment. The curriculum is broad-based but focuses on the integration of each area as used in systemic applications.
