Steps to Enrolling as a Dual Enrollment Student

High school students who are interested in Dual Enrollment with JSCC are required to do the following:

  1. Talk with your school counselor to determine eligibility and high school scheduling
  2.  DE Participation Requirements:
    • Possess a 3.0 minimum high school GPA and satisfy specific course requirements using one of the following:
      • 3.0 High School GPA AND satisfy specific course requirements by one of the following ways: 
      • Have a 3.6 or higher HS GPA, which satisfies most course requirements. 
      • ACT Scores of 18 English, 19 Reading, and 19 Math (SAT and Pre-ACT/SAT also accepted)
  3. Application & Required Documents:
  4. Eligibility Verification of Entitlements Act (EVEA) Documentation:
    • Submit a copy of your driver’s license, state-issued I.D., official birth certificate, or passport to admissions@jscc.edu
  5. TN Dual Enrollment Grant Application: 
    • Submit an application: www.tn.gov/collegepays
    • Students must maintain a 2.0 College GPA (different from HS GPA) to receive the grant in future semesters
  6. Consortium Agreement: 
    • If you will be taking a course with two or more institutions during the term, you must complete a consortium agreement form for the institution listed on your TN Dual Enrollment Grant Application for the term.
